Listening Seminar

Listening for Heaven's Sake - Perhaps the most fundamental way that we communicate love to another person is by listening attentively to them, caring enough to really hear what they have to say.  Social research has found that listening with empathy “heals people’s shame”. We are told in James 1:19 to be "quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry." While most of us in our culture are not very good listeners, we can learn!

The skills you gain will strengthen your relationships, with family members, coworkers, and neighbors. Join many of your friends at Hope who have taken Listening for Heaven’s Sake believing John who wrote,”if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.”

Our next class session is scheduled for Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. beginning September 22nd for six weeks, ending October 27th.  Watch for more information regarding registration!

Transform

TRANSFORM is the second class in Hope's Equipping for Discipleship series, following Listening for Heaven's Sake. In this class, you will be equipped to collaborate with Holy Spirit to follow Paul's admonition , "Do not conform to the world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - His good, pleasing, and perfect will." (Romans 12:2)

You will learn:

  • To discern the four aspects of your emotions and the emotions of others
  • To change behaviors and habits that are causing conflict or pain in your life
  • To sharpen your skills in listening for deeper heart issues in another person
  • To move forward with God in His transforming love

You will be learning alongside others in a small group setting as you practice the new skills together and in the process will make stronger connections with others.  Our team of instructors and facilitators are dedicated to creating a stimulating and effective learning experience.
