Club56 is a ministry for 5th and 6th graders overseen by Student and Kids’ Ministries.  We desire to come together to provide an age-appropriate place for students to gather on Sunday morning during the second service.  The time will contain worship, teaching, and community building.  We will also be creating events and small group experiences for the students as well.

A big part of Club 56 will be the events.  5th and 6th graders are ready for events outside of Sunday morning.  We want to allow them input into what these events are.  Club56 meets downstairs in room 102.  We have worked hard to make the room into one where they feel welcome and comfortable while giving space for a large group and small group teaching.

Why Club56

  • Fifth and Sixth graders are developmentally very similar. They are leaving childhood behind and entering into the teenage years.  This time period brings with it a thousand bewildering questions.  We want to give them a safe place to ask those questions and begin to ponder the answers.
  • Fifth and Sixth graders often feel like “inbetweeners.” The fifth graders think they are too old to be with the babies (1st graders) and many sixth-graders find Junior High kids and High School kids intimidating.  Let’s give them a place of their own where they can feel safe and grow in their relationship with God and each other.
  • Fifth and Sixth graders often have HIGH energy. With their own ministry, we can begin to channel their enthusiasm in productive ways.
  • Fifth and Sixth graders are ready to be part of the church. They can begin to discern their spiritual gifts and be given opportunities to use that gift for the body.  Leadership can be developed as they serve; for example, helping with offerings in the gathering, acting as greeters in the lobby, assisting in the Early Childhood Center, or learning tech.
