3 Core Values of College Age Ministry @ Hope Church

1. We view one another as unique Image-Bearers of the living God.

We welcome and invite all college-age people (18-24 years old) regardless of race, religion, gender, ethnicity, sexual preference, or disability to participate in our community. As humans, we often define ourselves with these labels but the Bible makes it clear that our fundamental identity is found in the truth that all human beings are created in the image of the triune God. With our primary identity secure, we can get to know one another, looking for all the ways in which each individual uniquely reflects and represents God’s image in the world.

2. Empowered by God’s grace, we walk with each other in our brokenness and suffering.

The Christian life is not meant to be lived alone. The gospel of Jesus frees us up to live authentically with one another – sharing our hopes and dreams as well as confessing our sin and struggles. As a community, we are committed to practicing prayer and spiritual encouragement.

3. We long to see individuals and communities reconciled to God through faith in Jesus.

Though our sin and brokenness is real – our Savior, Jesus Christ, is gloriously sufficient to redeem our brokenness, reconciling us to God through His life, death, and resurrection. Our heart and prayer is that our community would be a place where “you can belong before you believe” – where you can explore the Christian faith and grow in your understanding of who Jesus is and what it means to follow Him in every sphere of life.
