Hiring Process

We are currently looking to hire someone new to fill the responsibilities of David’s role.  As we evaluated the position and our needs at Hope, we concluded that we will be hiring someone who is not JH specific but who can manage and coordinate our Sunday programming while also developing relationships with students.  This will allow for a more effective role breakdown between the Student Ministry Pastor, the Director of Student Ministry, and the Director of Student Women.  You can see the new job description here

The process for hiring someone looks as follows:

  • Currently, the job is posted on a variety of church staffing and college graduate recruitment websites. We have also networked to relevant connections that we have with Christian colleges. 
  • As resumes come in, we will be conducting screener interviews followed by a more detailed interview from the Student Ministry staff.
  • The last three candidates will be interviewed by select Hope staff and parents.
  • Our final candidate will go through a “candidating” time where he/she meets students, parents, staff, and we have a chance to hear him/her speak and interact.
  • We hope to have a candidate in place by August 1 at the latest. If we do not find the right person by that time, we will reevaluate the goals for the position and make any necessary changes at that time. 

How can you help?

  • PRAY! We need prayers for wisdom, for us and the right person to find one another, and for that difficult balance of making sure we are following as he asks us to lead. 
  • Spread the word. Your cousin’s brother’s great uncle’s wife’s nephew’s son or daughter might be the right person for the job.
  • Also, if you have connections to a Christian college that you can network through, please spread the word that way as well.
