Philosophy Statement

Little Schoolhouse Preschool understands the importance of developing the whole child. Every child develops and grows cognitively, socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. We believe that every child should be provided multiple and varied opportunities to develop each of these areas at his/her own rate. To encourage development, we will provide a loving and caring Christian environment that is supportive, nurturing, and responsive to each child's individual needs. Such an environment is created by combining challenging, interesting activities with clear and appropriate boundaries, and is maintained with gentle re-enforcement and positive redirection.  We believe children create and expand their own knowledge through hands-on, child-lead activities.  Using developmentally appropriate practices, teachers act as a guide to facilitate learning for all children.
