Tell us about your family and work:  Abby and I met while we were students at The Ohio State University and married shortly after graduating in 1993. We moved to Liberty Township and began attending Hope Church in 1995. We are both teachers…Abby teaches 1st grade at Mars Hill Academy in Mason, and I teach 5th grade in the Lakota School District.  We have three children and two more by marriage, David and his wife Sarah, Daniel and his wife Courtney, and Allison, who bring us great joy.

When did you become an Elder?  I became an elder in June of 2021.

Tell us about your passion for ministry:  My passion for ministry is focused on the family. I long for all families (from the little ones all the way up the big ones) to know God more and to be taught in the truth of His Word. Abby and I have been so blessed to receive Godly teaching while at Hope, specifically in the areas of marriage and parenting. It is my desire to get families connected to others “that we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.” (Hebrews 10:24). So, when life throws us challenges, we can be equipped to face those difficult times, knowing we have others walking the path beside us, encouraging us, loving us, and pointing us to God. God gives us His Word, along with spiritual brothers and sisters to help us out along the way. It is so good to know that we don’t have to face life’s challenges alone. I look forward to serving and helping to connect families at Hope.
