Jon and Sarah Pfeil
Mission to the World, Tokyo, Japan
In spite of religious freedom and the world’s third largest economy, Japan is one of the least reached countries in the world – with only 0.4 percent professing Christianity. Though there are many cultural and spiritual obstacles, lives are being engaged through new churches and transformed by the power of the gospel in community.
The Pfeil family has been partnered with Grace Harbor Church in Tokyo, Japan. It is a Gospel-centered, grace renewal, missional Church that seeks to believe the Gospel, belong in community, and bless the city. In 2019, after more than fifteen years in Japan, the Pfeils moved back to the United States. They hope to eventually move back to Japan.
Jon now serves as the MTW Japan Stateside Representative, working to support the MTW Japan Country Director, and mobilizing and equipping people for ministry in Japan. Due to the new global landscape that has changed due to COVID, engaging with people in Japan via Zoom will continue and expand.
